Hello! It’s been a while, I’m afraid. It’s been a challenging and frustrating few weeks here, so I wanted to stop by, say hello and give you a little update.
I’ve been working really hard over the last three or four months on new projects and have been travelling a huge amount learning about all manner of interesting foods from all corners of Europe. The last month or so has been particularly difficult, as I spent weeks and weeks working on lots of new and exciting things – including content for the blog. Then, on a flight back from Nice a couple of weeks ago, my MacBook Pro died. Precisely one day after my Apple Care plan ended.
Having spent around 10 hours on the telephone to Apple, I took the laptop into Apple in Southampton, which resulted in a 11.5 hour day spent in the Apple shop, and a very expensive parking ticket as a result. I did have a back up on my external hard drive, but it was 3 weeks old, as I’d been abroad, and Apple managed to wipe my external hard drive in the process. Yes, I’m afraid I couldn’t stop myself from having a good cry in the shop, and the moral of the story is to have not one, but two back ups (I thought I was quite good having one relatively up to date one!).
Fortunately, some of the content has been recovered, but I’m in the process of recovering everything – thousands of documents and tens of thousands of photos have all been put back on the laptop – all undated and unnamed – so I’m still in the process of sorting out all my work and working out what I have and haven’t lost.
So, I hope you will bear with me – I have lots to share with you as soon as I can either re-locate it, or re-do it all together. Thank you for bearing with me. The photo sums up the last few weeks though – I’ve been extremely busy behind the scenes, and I hope to share my work with you soon.
